THE FASHIONABLE COLLEGIAN CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Finding opportunities in the fashion industry is a rigorous process.

Below is a list of resources I have used in the past to find jobs, freelance opportunities, and internships:

-Style Careers:
-For those who have an interest in design, merchandising, buying, and production, this is a great job board that lists job openings from top companies within the business.

-Fashionista:
-Fashionista lists a variety of opportunities in the fashion industry, ranging from sales internships to job opportunities in fashion public relations.

-Ed2010:
-Ed2010 is a great outlet if you’re looking to get into the editorial side of the fashion industry. In addition to fashion magazine opportunities, you’ll also find postings from some of the top magazines companies in the publishing industry.

-MediaBistro:
-Akin to ED2010, Media Bistro serves a similar purpose. You will find job/internship postings from some of the top publishing companies.

-Free Fashion Internships:
-The name says it all. Search for internships in your desired field. Please note, summer internship applications are normally available in January/February. Please make an effort to apply on time. Don't be one of those college students that realizes they need to apply for an internship in April/May. By that time, internship programs are already filled and opportunities become very seldom. Trust me. I've been there. No bueno.

-Indeed:
-Indeed is basically a search engine for job hunters. Search you’re desired field and location (ex. “Assistant Buyer - NYC”).
